The Pannon University team competed successfully in the 2026 MEFOB FEST in other sports too! 🏐🔫🏓♟️🤩

The MEFOB FESTIVAL is the largest domestic multisport event in terms of participant numbers, organised by MEFS for the fifth time. This year, the event was hosted by the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
At MATE's Gödöllő campus, university students and staff could compete in almost 14 sports over the 4 days of the event from April 30th to May 3rd, 2026. Pannon University was represented in 7 sports. 💪🏼
Volleyball
In the women's field, the Pannon University team successfully qualified for the Final4 matches, alongside KRE, TF, and SZTE, after the preliminary rounds. Unfortunately, on the first day of the semi-finals, they did not advance, and the following result was achieved in the bronze medal match:

🔫 SPORT SHOOTING 🔫
This year's MEFOB Sport Shooting competition featured a particularly strong field, where the participation of numerous national team members created an extremely exciting and close competition, which led to memorable moments for all participants and spectators.

TENNIS TABLE
The MEFOB FEST table tennis competition saw participants fill the Asztalitenisz Csarnok in Gödöllő this year. Over a hundred students from 24 higher education institutions pitted their skills against each other. Alongside the high number of participants, the competition was characterised by intensely fought battles and an extremely high standard.
The University of Pannonia was represented by Krisztián Broskovics, Diána Orovecz, and Ádám Zsuffa.

Chess
On 1st May, 90 players competed in nearly 800 games at MATE's hall, split between amateur and competitor groups. So many haven't played chess at MEFOB for many years. After a full day's competition, with 9 long rounds, the results were announced in the evening.
A team of four from the University of Pannonia embarked on the competition in a very strong field. Similar to last year, they faced extremely well-prepared and experienced opponents again this year, as all of them competed in the master category, meaning they found themselves up against FIDE Masters and International Masters.

They collected a total of 14.5 points, and they feel that this is a particularly good performance in a field with an average Elo rating of nearly 2000.

Furthermore, Pannon University was also represented by Máté Kovács, Benjámin Varga, Boglárka Holéczy-Kőrösi, Zsófia Nyári, and János Csornai.
At the V. Jubilee MEFOB FEST, a total of 30 university students will compete for the MEFOB championship titles. On the overall podium list, Pannon University finished in 7th place with a total of 11 medals:
