Pannonian participation at the XVII Carpathian Basin Universities Cup - web, website sport page

The University of Pannonia was represented by a delegation of 24 students at the XVII Carpathian Basin Universities Cup (KEK), a three-day sports event held in several locations in Budapest, which is one of the largest university sports festivals in the Carpathian Basin, where a record number of participants competed this year.

According to the organisers, the event, which took place from 5 to 7 March 2026, was attended by nearly 2,200 athletes, the largest turnout in the history of the CEC. The event was organised jointly by the ELTE Sports Association, BEAC and the National University of Public Service, providing competition opportunities for Hungarian university athletes from across the border and beyond in ten sports.

The University of Pannonia was represented by 24 students who competed in four sports:

- basketball🏀
- sakk♟️
- darts🎯
- floor curling🥌

Over the two days, our students participated in a number of exciting matches and competitions, while also having the opportunity to meet and network with athletes from other universities. The special thing about the CEC is that it is not just a competition, but also a community experience: in addition to sport, it is a great opportunity for students to interact, meet and share their passion for sport.

For more than a decade and a half, the Carpathian Basin Universities Cup has provided an opportunity for Hungarian university athletes to compete in an inspiring environment. For the students of the University of Pannonia, the participation was not only a sporting experience, but also a valuable community experience.
