The University World Championship of Sport Shooters was held in Taipei, China, between October 27 and 31 this year. Pannon University was represented for the first time by Bálint Kálmán, a student of the Faculty of Management studying in the basic course of Management and Management, who also became the first student on the Zalaegerszeg campus to participate in an international university competition.

The shooter of the ZTE Sports Shooting Club and Cultural Association sent a brief summary of his achievements and experiences:

Unfortunately, my individual event was a complete disaster, so I only managed to finish 10th. I was only 1.2 laps behind the final, which is particularly frustrating because to reach the final 8, you needed a much better result than at the February European Championships. Despite all this, in the team event we were able to place second on the podium with Csongor Lévai and Áron Rácz (behind the Korean team).

The next day, in the mixed relay event, we managed to achieve 10th place as the best Hungarian pair together with Gitta Bajos.

Of course, the achieved results deserve to be realistically evaluated, since a few months ago I underwent a major surgery, the recovery from which is still ongoing. Given this, these results can be considered positive, but I will need even more time and training to return to the original level.

We congratulate Bálint and wish him a speedy recovery!
